I am really loving working on this beautiful satin silk @bowendryden gown.
It is the first time I have attempted to paint it and it is wonderful to discover such a wide range of colours in the folds and highlights, from a bright cool blue to a deep hot orange. The more I look the more it reveals. Bit of a nightmare washing up so many paintbrushes at the end of the day though! Also trying to figure out how to render the subtle weave of the fabric in paint.
She will be heading off to @thedoorwaygallery as soon as she is finished
It always gives me such a thrill to see one of my drawings on a book cover, makes me want to go into the store and buy up the whole shelf load!
I am particularly proud of this book though, its a tough read of a woman’s real life struggle with breast cancer and the bonds that strengthen with the people around her during her journey.’ Leanne Kaye’s My Secret Legacy is in bookshops this month but hurry as I may have bought their stock :-), Trudy.
for sending this iMage through of a sold painting in the clients home. Signet Contemporary Art
It is very interesting for me to see how much more I like it in this big open white frame rather than the chunky brown one on there that I had used.
I have always tried to keep my framing consistent for exhibition purposes, but seeing this has made me rethink that idea. From now on I will think about using white frames with lighter painting, something I had steered clear of as someone once told me white frames were ‘bedroomy!’
I had this idea for a series of paintings after a show I did in early March. It made me think that I could paint anything that I wanted to and so why not a beautiful @harleydavidson . It has taken 6 months to organise the shoot in order to get my reference photos for the new paintings and I owe so much to the people who have helped me realise my vision.
To the wonderful trusting owner of this £20,000 dream machine whom I have never even met- thank you for your generosity and your trust in me! @dennyakers75 thank you for all of your hard work getting this bike to the shoot for me.
To @scarletpage AKA @sureshotpictures thank you so much for the incredible shots you got for me under the most difficult of circumstances, quite a major one being the bike would not fit in the studio as we discovered on the day, computer malfunctions and endless numerous other hurdles not to mention having to work with a complete idiot like me, none of this phased you!
And @amelia.isobella a seriously beautiful woman inside and out who never once complained about jumping through all of my hoops on the hottest day of the year whilst wearing some seriously gorgeous @bowendryden creations!
Thank you all! I am so thankful to you all. … Oscar acceptance speech over!
Amelia Isobella my beautiful muse standing next to one of the paintings I made of her at affordableartfairuk. It caused quite a stir when she was next to the paintings and people could see how accurate my likeness is.
Visitors were asking to photograph us and the paintings together that was a very weird feeling for me at the time.
Hidden away in my studio I do not get to see too many of my works in their new homes. So it’s great when I receive photographs from happy customers showing me their paintings hanging in situ.
Thanks for these.
In fact I am starting a category especially for these pictures as we receive them so please keep them coming.
After all, great ideas may come from seeing how others use my work to add to their atmosphere in a special room of the house or to complement an elegant office reception, etc.., Trudy
Sorry forgot to post more WIP of this bit of painted fabric. I think it’s finished now. For those interested the greens I used are olive Olive, hookers, perm enact light, a bit of titanium white and a little Prussian blue.
